A Horrible Woman

2017 | Drama | Denmark |

86 mins | Colour | Danish

This comedy drama is the story of the woman’s destructive insistence on dominance in a relationship from the man’s point of view.

When Rasmus meets Marie, he is certain that she is the love of his life. However, it doesn't take long before Marie shows herself to be both possessive and manipulative, constantly playing on her new boyfriend’s insecurities; Rasmus also has his part to play in a life lacking any direction or purpose. The unfolding story of these compelling central characters is funny, clever and very familiar and it’s no wonder that this film was one of the most talked-about Danish pictures in recent years, selling over 200,000 tickets at the domestic box office. A HORRIBLE WOMAN is a beautifully crafted film that playfully interrogates how love works and what happens when it all breaks down.
